Guiding inquiry
What is the paradox of ADHD? I have ADHD, which causes me to feel more stress and anxiety than most. When deciding on my sustained investigation, I knew that I wanted to incorporate my experiences with ADHD. While reflecting on my images, I realized all of my images had a calm and relaxed vibe. I started to analyze the process of taking photographs, concluding I always felt calmer and more at ease when I was taking pictures. This was a direct contrast to my normally turbulent mind.

I investigated how ADHD impacts me and demonstrates the paradox of my state of mind, which represented by the calm vibe of my images. I experimented with layers, darkroom techniques, and Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom techniques, and collages. In photo 10, I experimented in the darkroom with solarizing, contrast filters, and different light exposures. In photo 1, I used six layer masks in Adobe Photoshop to insert individual images into the eyes of a portrait. I implemented new techniques to further reinforce my investigation. These new techniques required multiple revisions.
